 The Rein, more an artist collective than a standard music group, are composed by Gianluca Bernardo (voice and acoustic guitar), Luca De Giuliani (electric guitar), Claudio Mancini (guitars and electric organ) e Pierluigi Toni (bass e double bass). Grew up together as a group since the end of the 90’s, the Rein experimented a new way to produce and promote music, inspired by the fundamental principle of culture sharing. This choice makes it possible for them to rely on the support of a wide audience, as well as on the attention of media and on the collaboration of numerous artists. Proud of their independency from any discographic label, they sell thousands of copies – non being covered by a classical distribution system – thanks to the word-of-mouth advertising amongst their supporters.
Having already performed hundreds of live concerts, the Rein distinguish themselves for their intense live activity, as well as for the skill to bring their music over the defined boundary of stage.
Stepping over the line that divides artist from audience, it may happen to see them play on the streets of all over Italy, on the tramways of Rome or on an old van’s back, in the middle of a square flooded by people, during a Carnival celebration. Acknowledged at the same time as one of the most interesting expressions of the indipendent music environment, they appear on the dates of important international festivals, next to artists such as Patty Smith, Placebo, Kraftwerk, Aphex Twin, Ska-P e Tracy Chapman.
Rein’s music is born of globalization and métissage. Deeply opened to any contamination, they move without intermission between musical universes that are poles apart, in order never to close themselves in a defined genre. Thundersrucked by the model of Mano Negra, they reinterpret it with their instruments, therefore so the sounds of italian and slavonic popular tradition espouse upbeat rhythms, that blend in turn with english rock and punk. Characterizing further on the whole is the preciousness of Gianluca Bernardo’s lyrics, owed to the big influence of Fabrizio De Andrè and of the american folk, Bob Dylan over all. |

Da ottobre partirà il nuovo tour che toccherà le maggiori città italiane e alcune località europee.
Il nuovo disco dei Rein, intitolato "E' FINITA", sarà dedicato ad una critica dura ma al tempo stesso poetica della società del consumo.
Un'occhio rivolto alle rovine fumanti di un sistema crollante o già crollato, un altro alla speranza di una rinascita nel segno
dell'ambientalismo, dell'empatia e della decrescita; un lavoro in cui si usa la parola "fine" solo per parlare di "inizio".
I Rein, tornati in studio dopo le cento date della tournée nata per promuovere il doppio CD Occidente, daranno questa volta alle stampe un
lavoro essenziale, che punta dritto ad una comunicazione immediata, sia nelle musiche che nei testi. La ricerca di un suono più
nitido e al tempo stesso più dinamico è una delle linee di fondo che stanno caretterizzando la produzione artistica del progetto, che
prosegue il percorso di un collettivo che da sempre studia e sviluppa le possibilità di fusione tra musica folk-popolare e musica contemporanea. Dopo gli incoraggianti successi della loro ultima pubblicazione, che è risultata per oltre un anno tra le più ascoltate a livello mondiale sul portale di free-download Jamendo, i Rein riproporranno la scelta di pubblicare i nuovi brani con licenze Creative Commons, così da permettere una libera circolazione della loro musica a partire dai canali offerti dalla rete.

 Nell'ultimo anno i Rein si collocano stabilmente nella top 100 del portale JAMENDO, sito che riconosce Occidente tra i dischi più ascoltati e scaricati tra quasi 35.000 titoli pubblicati nel mondo.
Con oltre 170.000 ascolti e un numero di brani complessivamente scaricati che si aggira attorno ai 180.000 file, i Rein hanno raccolto migliaia di consensi grazie alla politica del costo equo e del free-download. Questi dati considerano esclusivamente il portale JAMENDO. Ad esso si aggiungono i siti P2P, i social network e i forum che hanno riportato il link per il download di Occidente, incrementandone ulteriormente il numero di ascolti.
